Seven-Day Mount Kenya Climbing Safari
Trek across Mount Kenya on a seven-day journey from Nairobi, ascending by the Sirimon Route to Point Lenana and descending through the dramatic Chogoria landscape. The route passes forest, open moorland, Mackinder Valley, high-altitude camps, tarns and waterfalls.
Mount Kenya rises to 5,199 metres at Batian, while Point Lenana—the objective of this non-technical trek—stands at 4,985 metres. The programme includes arrival and departure days, acclimatisation in Nanyuki and a gradual mountain journey. Cold temperatures and difficult conditions are possible at any time of year.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Meet your Nature Bound Africa representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your Nairobi hotel. The remainder of the day is free to rest and prepare for the journey. Overnight at Skynest Residences or a similar property.
Day 2: Nairobi to Nanyuki
After breakfast, drive north through central Kenya to Nanyuki, arriving around lunchtime. Meet your mountain guide, check your equipment and spend the afternoon acclimatising. Dinner and overnight in Nanyuki.
Day 3: Nanyuki – Sirimon Gate – Old Moses Camp
Drive to Sirimon Gate and complete park formalities before beginning the trek. Follow the trail through forest and heath to Old Moses Camp at approximately 3,300 metres. The walk normally takes about five hours, depending on pace and trail conditions.
Day 4: Old Moses Camp to Shipton’s Camp
Continue through the broad moorlands and Mackinder Valley towards Shipton’s Camp at approximately 4,200 metres. The scenery becomes increasingly alpine as the main peaks rise ahead. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 5: Shipton’s Camp – Point Lenana – Mintos and Road Head
Wake at about 2:30 a.m. for the pre-dawn ascent to Point Lenana at 4,985 metres. Weather permitting, the summit offers far-reaching sunrise views. Descend towards Mintos for breakfast, then continue to Road Head for lunch and overnight in the Chogoria area.
Day 6: Road Head – Chogoria – Nairobi
Complete the descent towards Chogoria, passing striking valleys, tarns and waterfalls. After lunch, meet the vehicle and drive back to Nairobi for dinner and overnight at Boulevard Hotel or a similar property.
Day 7: Nairobi and Airport Transfer
Enjoy breakfast and free time according to your flight schedule. Your driver will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
Accommodation and Trek Arrangements
This route uses a combination of Nairobi and Nanyuki accommodation with mountain camps or huts as confirmed in the final itinerary. Your personalised quotation will clearly list accommodation, meals, park fees, transfers, guide and crew services, equipment supplied and every applicable exclusion.

Summit success and mountain conditions cannot be guaranteed, and the guide may adjust the programme for weather, trail conditions, acclimatisation or participant safety. Batian and Nelion are technical climbing objectives and are not included in this trek.
