Choose countries by experience, not by checklist
Choose Tanzania for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Kilimanjaro; Kenya for the Masai Mara, Amboseli and Laikipia; Uganda for Bwindi gorillas, chimpanzees and varied landscapes; and Rwanda for a compact gorilla journey with easy access from Kigali. South Africa can work as a separate extension, but it should not be forced into an East Africa route simply to add another country.
