Overview
The Marangu Route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast and is the mountain’s only main route using hut accommodation. This responsible six-day climb includes an acclimatisation day at Horombo Hut and passes through rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert and the arctic summit zone. The complete eight-day programme includes airport arrival, six mountain days and your final airport transfer. Altitude, cold and summit-day endurance remain demanding, and the guide’s safety decision always takes priority.
